Moonwalk 2

The famous brewery which is now an indoor mall. This scene is taken from the Moonwalk. The Brewery was undergoing façade restoration at the time this picture was taken.

This is Rebecca Waxman, co-owner of Coconut Palm Art and Crafts and she will make a basket for you while you wait on the Riverwalk near the Natchez steamboat berth. Rain or shine, you can count on Rebecca being on the Riverwalk from about 12 noon to sunset. At the time of our visit several year ago, prices ranged from $2 to $25. Rebecca’s partner is Scott Holnberg. If you have any updated info, please let us know.

The streetcar picture on the left almost cost Gil his life (the streetcar passed within just inches of his body as it passed). The Riverfront streetcar line runs parallel to the Mississppi River and looks just like the more famous and older streetcars that run along St. Charles Ave. (except, the Riverfront cars are red, and the St. Charles line are green).

The Nachez is one of the only real riverboats left is still plying the waters of the Mississippi River. If you look closely, you can see Mark Twain waving from the railing. The lower center photo show a steam caliope organ on the Nachez, one of the few still in use here in the United States.

Dear Guests: We have worked very hard on this site in hopes that it will educate, inform, and entertain. All donations are appreciated, once we get our tip jar back up, but if you can’t do that, please donate a little of your time to signing the guestbook below and let us know what you think. As always, we appreciate your comments. Thanks, Gil Davis -- Jay Barrymore
